THE NEW SITE

.... and so, almost exactly 2 years since I started writing this blog, I'm quitting it ...in favour of my new site!

There isn't much there at the moment but I've got the blog section up and running and the rest will follow over the next couple of weeks or so - the blog will keep you updated with developments.

See you there :)

275 POSTS LATER

Yep, this is the 275th post and the second to last. Ever. I've decided to go ahead and get my own domain name and put ALL my home education stuff on it. It will have my ebooks, montessori materials, unit studies, articles etc. It MAY have a blog but I'm not sure yet.

I will be leaving this blog here (but removing the Montessori stuff) because people may still want to read it and I'll post a message when the new site is ready (when Nik the web-guy get's round to setting it up grrr!)

If you're still interested to read about me and my life, feel free to drop round to my general blog BUT, for those with sensitive dispositions, I'd give it a miss. I'm not going to make an apologies for what I write there and it is nothing like this blog (I tend NOT to be sugary-nice all the time lol!), I also, occasionally write about personal issues. It's up to you whether you read it or not but don't leave me snotty messages if you do and then don't agree with something I've put lol!

So, I shall say TTFN and extend an invitation to my new website-warming when it's decorated n looking nice :)

QUIET?...I GUESS SO

Ok, so this blog has been made inactive on the Early Years webring due to being "quiet". Well, yep, it has. *Shrugs*

It's summer, it's hot and we've just been lazin' about.

I've also been thinking about this blog and all my little home ed bits dotted about. I'm considering just lumping everything under one website under my own name. I may or may not have a blog. To be honest, after nearly 2 years, I've grown tired of writing it and I guess the being made "inactive" thing kind of reminded what I DON'T like about blogging - it takes me away from why I originally blogged.

I started blogging, back in August 2004, to keep a nice record of Rosie's work and to have something to look back on in years to come. I didn't blog to gain an audience (although I have and, yes, it's nice). I blogged for me and for my family. I've lost sight of that I think.

Anyhoo, for what it's worth - stuff we've been doing lately (apart from Nintendo games, playing in the garden, art etc. We've visited Hurst Castle (in Lymington), planted a potato, nutured our sunflower and garlic into life (we're amazed - we're not that great at growing stuff!), used the telescope lots and played Sims 2 (which I got for my birthday on the 15th)

Oh, and Tim didn't get the job he went for. Bummer.

Back to being "quiet" now.

AHOY THERE ME HEARTIES!

Another scorching hot day which we spent doing (amongst other things!), the following:

- Hosing down the outside of the house to get rid of the spider webs and a horrifyingly huge spider *shudders*

- Watching the space shuttle Discovery launch (with many "ooooo's!" from Rosie)

- Making a pirate map using cold tea to "age" it. Here's the paper drying outside after it's cuppa lol!

....and here it is complete with Rosie's drawings to guide us round the garden to the treasure :)

- Playing Banjo Kazooie on the Nintendo

Oooo! and Tim had a job interview and he's been called back to go for a second one on Friday so fingers crossed for that! :)

LINKS

A couple of good sites I've discovered recently, in case they might be of use to anyone.

Black & White File Folder Games - this is where I got the games pictured recently (they are all in black and white format for you to colour yourself). They also do a good section of blank games so that you can put any information you want on them (I made a grammar one for Rosie). It's a Yahoo group so you will have to sign up but well worth it - there's loads of stuff there! :)

Rainforest Maths - really beautiful, colourful site with lots of interactive maths games.
